Fa La La (album)

''Fa La La'' is an ongoing multi-album project by Rasputina frontwoman Melora Creager, the first part of which was released on May 12, 2015. Future volumes are expected to be released in the near future.
==Background and recording==
Creager formed a five-piece narrative musical project called Fa La La: the Bastardy of Shakespeare's Madrigals in 2012. Inspired by the Madrigal works of Elizabethan author Thomas Weelkes, the project expands on the Oxfordian theory of Shakespeare authorship – the claim that Edward de Vere wrote the plays and poems traditionally attributed to William Shakespeare – by alleging that Weelkes was another pseudonym used by de Vere, and that the music of Weelkes could be seen as scores to Shakespeare's plays. The project was initially billed as "Rasputina presents Fa La La: the Bastardy of Shakespeare's Madrigals" and included five members, Creager as well as then-current Rasputina members Daniel DeJesús and Julie Griner, ''Thanks for the Ether'' and ''How We Quit the Forest'' cellist Julia Kent and newcomer Lauren Molina. However, the first volume of ''Fa La La'' was recorded by Creager alone, and she later stated that the project has become a solo venture. It is unknown if other musicians will take part in the recording of future releases.
The first volume of the project was released for digital download on Creager's website on May 12, 2015 and contained original music and rearranged versions of Weelkes' Renaissance-era material.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Raspuina - The Grey Eagle )〕 A new mix of the track "Murder By Makeup", which contains original lyrics sung over Weelkes' composition "Those Spots Upon My Lady's Face", was released shortly after. She has referred to this collection as one of "many more to come. It's an endlessly fascinating subject".〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Interview with Melora Creager of Rasputina )〕 A CD version of the album followed on July 11 and was limited to ten copies.
In July 2015, Creager stated that she is currently at work on the second volume of the project.
